NOBLESVILLE YOUTH BASEBALL ANNOUNCES FIRST LEG OF SUMMER CLINIC SERIES

Noblesville Youth Baseball has announced the first leg of its 2015 instructional clinic series.  Advanced Player Field Sessions will run for three Wednesdays beginning June 10, and will be led by former major league player Wes Whisler and professional baseball instructor Jason Taulman.


NYB President Chris Sciaudone commented: “In our ongoing efforts to provide our players with additional learning opportunities, we are thrilled to bring in two respected coaches in Wes Whisler and Jason Taulman.  Wes is a Noblesville native, and can share his experience as a collegiate and big league player with our young players.  Jason is simply one of the finest baseball instructors I have ever been around, and it will be a real treat for our kids to get to work with him.”


Advanced Player Field Sessions will be limited to the first 30 players that enroll at www.noblesvillebaseball.org.  Further learning opportunities will be announced shortly.

Clinic Details:

Advanced Player FIELD SESSIONS

Limited Spots- First 30 Players!!

Areas Covered:  Throwing & Fielding, Hitting & Baserunning, Pitching

Dates:  June 10th, June 17th, June 24th

Times: 9:00-11:00 am (Please arrive 15 minutes early to warm up)

Ages: 8-12

Location: Field of Dreams

Cost: $125 per player for all 3 weeks

** All Players to bring their own gear, dress in baseball attire, and be sure to bring something to drink **

 

About Wes Whisler:

Wes Whisler graduated from Noblesville High School in 2001, and was named Indiana's Mr. Baseball his senior year. He accepted a baseball scholarship to UCLA, where he led the PAC 10 in home runs, was named All-PAC 10 and Freshman All-American. He played in the Cape Cod Summer League where he was named Top Prospect in the league by MLB General Managers. He was selected in the second round (52nd overall) of the 2004 MLB Draft by the Chicago White Sox. Wes made his Major League Debut in 2009 with the Chicago White Sox.  Played 10 years of Professional Baseball.

About Jason Taulman:

Jason Taulman's coaching career includes three seasons as a coach in professional baseball, serving with the Ohio Valley Redcoats of the Frontier League and the Lafayette Leopards of the Heartland League. He additionally served as pitching coach at Butler University and Ball State University.

Jason pitched at St. Joseph’s College, graduating with a degree in Elementary Education in 1995. That same year, his baseball team was crowned Great Lakes Valley Conference Champions. He spent five seasons as a professional pitcher, playing with the Sioux Falls Canaries and Lafayette Leopards.  In 1998 Jason pitched the first perfect game in modern day independent minor league history, which earned a feature story in Baseball America. In 1997 he was a Heartland League all-star, and in 1995 was named a Mid-America League all-star by Baseball America. His 1995 and 1996 squads were also league champions.


Over the years Jason has coached over 30 players who have signed professional contracts and dozens more who have earned college scholarships.
