"Field of Dreams" Update for 2006
2001 was a "banner year" for our
facility and involved many, many improvements to our already fantastic fields
and surrounding property. Some of these improvements included: covered dugouts
for all 8 diamonds, all 8 fields being lighted, new press boxes and PA
systems, and a paved parking lot (yeah!). Our facility is trully outstanding,
and it is something that we are all extremely proud of. As you probably know,
Noblesville Youth Baseball hosted the Continental Amateur Baseball Association
(CABA) House World Series at the end of July, 2001. We were voted both "Best
Facility" and "Best Concessions" awards for our outstanding "Field of
Dreams"!!! Congratulations to all who contributed, and to all who call
Noblesville Youth Baseball their home!
In 2002, we paved the lanes
between the diamonds, and installed an irrigation system on all of the
infields.
In 2003, we installed bleachers
on all 8 fields, and completely re-did all 8 infields! We planted new grass,
re-built the pitcher's mounds, rebuilt the home plate areas, re-leveled the
infield dirt and re-cut all the infield cutouts. We also re-built the area in
front of all of the dugouts, and have installed a completely new drainage
system! This should really make a big difference for the 2004 season!
At the end of the 2004 season, we
began construction on our new pavilion!!! This is really a wonderful addition
to the ballpark, and will give players and visitors alike a place to sit and
relax in the shade (or out of the rain!).
During the 2005 season we finished our massive pavilion
which is fully loaded with picnic tables for teams and families to gather.
Landscaping was upgraded and we added new flower beds.
To start the 2006 season we have all new backstops on all
fields and the pipe along the top of all the fences has been replaced.
But wait, there's more! This
year, we have plans to make the facility even better, if that is possible!
Some of these plans include: additional storage facilities, additional
parking, t-ball specific fields, new and improved restrooms, safety nets
between the fields to help keep foul balls from causing
injury. We are excited as we continue to build one of the
finest youth baseball facilities in the Midwest. Thank you for all your
support!!
