In-House Program

The following structure has been adopted by the NYB Board for the In-House program. It is our intent to match the players by age and grade level. All players will play in their current grade level. We realize many parents would like to place siblings on the same team for convenience, unfortunately, this request cannot be accommodated. We feel placing players in their correct age and grade level offers the best possible experience for all involved.

The only exception to a child “playing up” a grade level is if he or she has a birthday that is prior to April 30th which would preclude them from being eligible to play in post season All-Star play such as a Blaze team or playing on one of the Heat teams. This requirement is not an issue for in-house players.

Files/forms for parents and volunteers

3/4 Year Olds: 3 and 4 year old players will play in the 3/4's T-Ball League. Children must be 3 years old by January 1st of 2008.
5 Year Olds: 5 year old players will play in the 5's T-Ball League. No Pre-School 3 or 4 year old will play in this league.
Kindergarten: Children who are currently enrolled in Kindergarten will play in this league. Kindergarteners will play coach overhand pitch baseball with modified 1st grade rules.
1st Grade: Children who are currently enrolled in 1^st Grade will play in this league. Players will play coach overhand pitch baseball and will begin utilizing catchers.
2nd Grade: Children who are currently enrolled in 2nd Grade will play in this league. Players will play coach overhand pitch baseball.
3rd Grade: Children who are currently enrolled in 3^rd Grade will play in this league. Players will begin playing kid pitch baseball. They will play high school rules with modifications (see rules).
4th Grade: Children who are currently enrolled in 4th Grade will play in this league. They will play high school rules with modifications (see rules).
5th/6th Grade: Children who are currently enrolled in the 5^th or 6^th Grade will play in this age combined league. They will play high school rules with modifications (see rules). Children who are 13 years old or older are not eligible to play in this league regardless of their current grade level.
