NYB TRAVEL PROGRAM

Mission:

Noblesville Youth Baseball Travel Program is committed to developing talented young men with a passion for baseball. As a philosophical extension of the Miller Baseball Program, each player & coach will be pushed to achieve excellence on and off the field through 1st class instruction and support. While demanding commitment and denying selfishness, each player and coach will be expected to embrace reality, but work to improve everyday while putting the team (others) before themselves.

Development Council Director

Justin Keever (Head Baseball Coach Noblesville High School)

Coach Keever will lead and meet often with a council that will be in charge of player & coach development for all NYB Travel Players from ages 9-12. Coach Keever will inject the “Miller Way” in terms of fundamentals, philosophy and terminology in which the Development Council will then pass on. Paying special attention to the Coach Development, Coach Keever will hold bi-monthly “Coaches’ Corners,” which will be used to educate and instruct coaches on best practices. Coach Keever will also participate in many of the off-season practices, conduct camps, and be involved during the season.

Development Council:

The Development Council (DC) will be the development, evaluation and accountability arm of the NYB Travel Program. The DC will conduct the selection process in regards to both the players and coaches. Each councilman has considerable playing experience, along with valuable coaching experience. This objective body has perspective and insight that is second to none. Committed to the development of each player, the DC will make decisions in order of program, team, individual. No other travel program can offer the collective commitment to each player ages 9-12, while instilling “The Miller Way.” A standards based curriculum will be installed in order to lead each player and team on a path of reaching their potential. In addition, all of the DC will be a coach on an assigned team and age level.

I grew up playing baseball.  I played little league in Bloomington, IN and played through high school in CarmeI, IN.  I also played hockey growing up and I graduated from Fredonia State University in New York where I played four years of collegiate hockey and played in back to back Final Fours. I served as a coach and board member in the Bulls organization from 1994-2003.  In 1996, our 13U Bulls team was 56-12 and won the AAU National Championship.  In 2002, I led the 16U Bulls to 52-8 and a NABF National Runner-up in Northville, MI.  In addition to coaching for the Bulls, I served as a varsity assistant in Noblesville under Hall of Fame Coach Dennis Kas for seven years.  During my time at Noblesville, I worked with all positions with a focus on pitchers.  While in Noblesville we won two Sectional Championships.  I then went to Greenfield-Central where I served as the head varsity coach for four years.  During my time at Greenfield-Central, we won back to back Sectional Championships, a Regional Championship, and had a Semi-State appearance.  I was the Star East Coach of the Year and the District F Coach of the Year in 2005.  In addition, I was also a coach for the South All Star team for the North/South All Star series in 2005.  I have served the last two years on the NYB Travel Council and coached the 7U, 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, and 12U Black travel teams.  I live in Noblesville with my wife Kelly and two sons, Joe and Zac.
