Organizational Items

 ·         My role – administrative and logistical and NOT anything to do with the game of soccer.  I am the liaison between the parents and the club administration as well as our other volunteers.  My goal is to keep the coaches focused on teaching the game and not distracted by non-value adding activities.  I hope to do this by keeping you up to date with the information you need.

 ·         We will be using Blue Sombrero to help us organize.  The legacy teams (Blue and Gold) have been combined into one web site.  Please feel free to go to the web site and explore.  I will be learning more about this and some other tools early next week and will update you as appropriate.  For now, if you would like to add a second email address, please log in to Blue Sombrero at the link below and go to My Account – Account Info, from there you can add a secondary parent/guardian.

 ·         Calendar – I have created a public Google calendar that includes training and game appointments.  You can access the calendar via Blue Sombrero or you can pull from it directly using the link below.  As we get more information around game details, I will update the calendar accordingly.  Please check the body of the appointments as I will include details there.  There are some obvious conflicts out there right now but please consider everything tentative, and as I receive more information, I will pass it along.

 ·         Late Breaking News and announcements such as field closures will come via a text/email blast notification called One Call.  I will send more information on this next week.  There is also a field closure status box on the club’s home page. Game Day Rosters – Every Wednesday before a game I will send coach a full pool roster with expected absences so they can decide on the rosters for the game.  Once the decisions are made, I will send them out to the parents.  I understand that things will come up after Wednesday but please do your best to communicate as timely as possible.  The goal is to get this back to you by Thursday so you can plan your weekend.  Questions regarding roster decisions should be made to Coach.

·         Attendance – when your child is going to miss a game it is important that you send me an email so I can track availability to help in preparing rosters.  There is no need to send a message on missed training sessions.

·         I am in need of a volunteer or two to organize a social event for the athletes in the very near future.  Please contact me if you are willing to do this.
